Muscular Dystrophy
Muscular dystrophy causes the breaking down of muscle fibers which causes the muscles to be weak. Muscular Dystrophy also affects skeletal muscles. This disease could be found while at young ages or in the middle ages. This disease is more common in boys than girls. There are nine types of muscular dystrophy.
Science and Muscular Dystrophy
Many of the types of muscular dystrophy are formed because of mutations found in the genes. Muscular dystrophy is inherited at birth and only four of the types of genetic diseases have found the gene responsible for this disease. Treatments for muscular dystrophy are mainly targeted at lessing weakness, increasing mobilitity, and curing heart defects. So far there aren't any cures or drugs that have been effective. There is no way to prevent Muscular Dystrophy, but having a good nutrition doesn't hurt.
